It's easy to pick any company for a sweeping job. It is more difficult to exceed your expectation of price and quality. We recommend you consider the following tips:

1. Hire a company that changes its brooms on a monthly basis so that the brooms pick up trash and compact dirt. Brooms that are worn to a nub are practically useless.
2. Hire a company that sets its brooms fully on the ground as opposed to a sharp angle or lightly touching the ground. Sharp angles and light touching only serve to shuffle dirt and debris rather than remove it. Companies to this to save money.
3. Hire a company with a back-end lift hoppers. Back-end lift hoppers are the most versatile as it allows dumping onto the ground, a dumpster, forklift, and hauling trucks. You cannot afford to hire a sweeper with a bottom-dump while trucks are hauling dirt out of your construction site as that requires you to hire a forklift operator to remove the dumped dirt.
4. Hire a company with a large hopper. When you hire a sweeper all day, the last thing you want is your sweeper to be dumping every half-hour or hour. Hire a company with a hopper that needs no dumping for a full day!
5. Hire a company with machines that meet and exceed South Coast Air Quality Management District Rule 1186 certified sweepers.
6. Hire a company that is owner-operated. Owners treat your job site as if it is theirs. Owners take greater care and concern for safety and quality work.
7. Hire a company with a water tank, pump, and spray nozzle system to elminate dust.
8. Hire a company that is available 24/7 and capable of doing your job on very short notice.
9. Hire a company that gets out of its sweeper to scrape packed dirt and hand sweeps sidewalks when necessary.
10. Hire a company that will be honest with you. You do not want a sweeper that blows dirt around instead of picking it up.
11. Hire a company with a flexible minimum, such as a 3-hour rate, 8-hour rate, 40-hour rate, and yearly pricing.
